Diabetes is a chronic and that is a well known fact. Diabetes Care West Africa e. V. (Germany) is leaving no stone unturned in contributing its quota in the fight against this NCD.

This year (2013) our Diabetes Campaign Tour started with/in Defale. Defale is a village in the Doufelgou Prefecture in the Kara Region of north-eastern Togo.

We had Blood Glucose Screening Section, Weight and Height measuring Section, Body Mass Index calculating Section. Here, is Blood Pressure Screening section.

Our Diabetes Screening Session took us to Agbelepedo Lorry and Bus Station in Lomé/Togo

There we screened ....

27.05.13: In a Technical High School "Lycee Attiegbu" in Togo2000 we talked to the students about Diabetes...

The hunger to know more about Diabetes could be seen on their faces

They were all later screened including (here) the director of the school. Some Glucose meters and Testing Strips were donated to the School clinic to enable them follow up the fight against Diabetes.

Here in our little office we invite and offer people free training on how to use different glucose self monitoring systems, how to properly inject Insulin and general advice and support especially to those who already have diabetes.

Diabetes Care West Africa e.V. (Germany) also conducted a 4-day Diabetes Screening Session for the Ministry of Security and Civil Defence. All the Police Stations in Lomé were screened.
