ONLY THE INEVITABLE CAN STOP ME FROM ACHIEVING MY MISSION

We drove off from Lomé at 5:30am and because of bad road we got there 7:30. The hall, tables and chairs were already set and some people were already waiting. Later chief of the village came and after the normal protocol, declared the activity open.
First Table was for registering and filling-in a questionaire. The next was weighing and height measurement. Then a bench for resting and calming down. The next table was for blood pressure and blood glucose measurement/screening. And finally to one of the Doctors for discussion/consultation.
Considering the timing, way of life of the villagers and others factors, we were satisfied getting 120 people.
Going by the results collected, I would say we had more cases of High Blood Pressure than Blood sugar.
I was also able to observe that more women than men came for the screening. And they were most advanced in age.
Right now, Sunday 15.03.20, I am thinking on how best to turn this structure erected by the villagers to the only functioning medical center for the community/village. I am sure it is possible and so am sure I can do it. I am highly motivated for I know that only the inevitable can stop me from attaining what I started

 

"...WHEN-THERE- IS -A -WILL -THERE- IS- ALWAYS- A -WAY...."
After visiting in September, Dr. Imorou(Diabetologist managing ONG Diabète/Bénin), whom I prefer now to call "Dula", and his more than 4000 Diabetes Patients, I returned quickly to Germany to work for a month to prepare myself for 14.11.19 World Diabetes Day Activities in West Africa.
I could not work-up enough cash in one month, to get all the necessary materials I needed.
That did not stop me from moving on.
On the 12.11.19, I took off from Frankfurt to Lome/Togo. My activities started the next day.
I travelled to Come, in Bénin République, as planned, and screened the community in their medical center, in the presence of their District Medical Officer, the Mayor of the Community and the medical Doctor in-charge of the center.
Because I could not be ubiquitous, I called and gave Insulin, Meters and Test-Strips to Diabetes Youths of Ghana, scheduled to have a 4-day Diabetes Youths Camp, 21.11.19 to 24.11.19.
On the 23.11.19, I conducted with our Partner the planned World Diabetes Day 2019 event in Avenou, Lome/Togo. Lectures,, Talks and discussions were held. There was surprisingly a huge turnout.
At the end, all parties involved were satisfied.
ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL.
