Diabetes Care West Africa collects insulin and other vital diabetes materials and brings them to people with diabetes in West Africa.

In 2015, George Ezeani won the Thomas Fuchsberger Prize for his project.

The association's members carry out free blood sugar measurements and screenings.

What diabetes means in Togo

While in Germany people with diabetes, especially type 1 diabetes mellitus, can lead a largely normal life, people in Togo struggle for survival with the same diagnosis. The health system in Togo is underfunded. Insulin, syringe accessories, blood sugar test strips and measuring devices are only given to the few who can afford it or the lucky ones who receive it through donations.

Parfois, la situation justifie que l'on applique le principe de division du travail ainsi que les principes de délégation.
L'un des événements prévus au cours de mon séjour de 6 semaines au Togo (11.02.23 au 06.04.23), était d'effectuer un dépistage spécial du diabète avec des membres sélectionnés de l'Association des Assistants Médicaux du Togo (Association des Assistants Médicaux du Togo ASAMTO) Medical in Kpalime .
Malheureusement, j'ai dû exécuter un programme parallèle inattendu le même jour.
Cependant, j'ai envoyé quelques matériels tel que des glucometres et des bandelettes. cela a été fait avec succès.
Un rapport et des photos m'ont été envoyés et c'est exactement ce que je veux partager avec les membres de Diabetes Care West Africa e. V. et tous mes abonnés et non-abonnés Facebook.
